GoodTrip – Building a Sustainable Digital Tourism Ecosystem

Overview:
This cross-disciplinary project explored how GoodTrip, an eco-conscious tourism platform, integrates sustainability into its infrastructure, food practices, travel options, and accommodation models. Our group developed future-facing strategies aligned with degrowth principles, low-tech design, and digital economy ethics. The project also incorporated theory from sustainability studies, platformisation, the attention economy, and tourism labour practices to reimagine what sustainable travel could look like by 2034.

My Role:
I contributed the Food component, focusing on how eco-friendly dining and local sourcing can be promoted within the digital tourism space. I analysed how sustainable food experiences can drive attention, support ethical labour, and contribute to regenerative travel practices. Additionally, I collaborated with the team to ensure content alignment across platform, travel, infrastructure, and accommodation verticals.Outcome:
Our project positioned GoodTrip as a visionary leader in sustainable tourism, not only through eco-conscious travel experiences but also in digital practices that model ethical and degrowth-centered design. By blending critical theory with practical application, the project showed how tourism platforms can lead in areas such as energy conservation, ethical content creation, slow travel, and inclusive labour.

The final product reflects a commitment to environmental stewardship and digital sustainability—redefining what “good” travel looks like in a post-growth future.
